The Gochu de Monte Asturiano cular sausage is a unique sausage from the meat of animals raised in freedom in a project that covers more than 50 hectares in the mountains of the central area of Asturias. Gochu de Monte Asturiano cular sausage is made with the finest meats of these animals born and raised in the Asturias mountains and fed on Asturias chestnuts and spelt.
The Gochu de Monte Asturiano project is a pioneering initiative of La Casería de Tierra Astur that seeks to dignify pork meat, which has had a negative perception among consumers in recent years. The Gochu de Monte Asturiano is the result of the crossing Asturias sows with Duroc boars, a technique that improves meat quality and results in greater fat infiltration and therefore high quality sausages.
