“Horno de Luanco” marañuela buns are packaged in bags of 12 units (about 650 g).
Their origin dates back more than 400 years, when it was tradition during Easter Week to give marañuela buns to godchildren as gifts. It was also considered a good omen for a young lady to gift her admirer this dessert during courtship. Since this sweet treat is preserved for a long time, families of old used to send marañuela buns to distant relatives.
