Discover this great wine made by the Monasterio de Corias winery under the PDO Cangas wine Denomination of Origin. It is a red wine made with a mixture of red Albarín, Mencía, Carrasquín and Verdejo red grapes; the iconic varieties of the Narcea valleys.
It is an excellent wine of very limited production produced by this winery as a kind of homage to the traditional and manual harvest that takes place in this area of southwestern Asturias.

This wine is perfect to share with aromatic dishes with an intense flavour, such as slow-cooked game or lamb stews. Keep it at a temperature of 14-16º and decant a few minutes before serving.
Visually, it is a bright cherry red in the centre with a purple shimmer on the edges and a medium-high layer that leaves a large number of legs on the glass when served.
It is intense and complex on the nose with blackberry and blackcurrant notes as well as hints of cocoa, liquorice, toasted nuts and a light touch of leather and cedar in the background.
It is full bodied on the mouth with distinctive acidity, a moderate alcohol volume, polished tannin and retro-nasal taste of black currant, prune and bakery goods, with a silky, balanced and persistent mid palate.
Cangas PDO wines are renowned as heroic viticulture due to the vines' harsh growing conditions on slopes over 30%, at altitudes above 500 metres and on terraces that prevent machine processing, which means the grapes must be harvested by hand.
