The Casería de San Juan del Obispo, a repository of ancient manufacturing traditions, sells naturally produced products. None of the production or storage processes it uses has any substance that alters the content of the distillate. Its products are 100% natural, guaranteed by their numbered labels.
“Legend has it that a bishop occupied a house near Oviedo (Asturias, Spain) and made cider from the good apples produced on the land. From the cider he distilled a delicious eau de vie that was soon the pride of the region. He achieved such a high reputation that France’s wealthy Duke of Normandy sent three of his knights with gold to buy the secret. The Bishop, who did not want riches for himself, gave them the recipe for nothing. However, so that they could split the gold, and ensure there would be no rival to such a rich eau de vie, the envoys agreed to kill him when he finished writing down the formula. And so as the good bishop dropped lifelessly to his knees, ink spilled on the letter, leaving only the following words readable: ... with joy and health to drink a good liqueur, Asturias apples and a hot tipple...”
