This small size and kidney-shape bean requires much less cooking time than the traditional Asturias fava bean. Like the faba bean, it is also very creamy on the palate, and also requires soaking for about 12 hours before cooking.
It is often found in menus in Asturias restaurants accompanied with prawns or other seafood, squid, wild boar, etc., a delicious and limited-production product.
